ACTIVITIES
One of the central tasks of the International Salzburg Association is the promotion of the traditional form of patronage. The activities of the ISA are closely linked to Salzburg’s cultural status and provide support for projects and initiatives of benefit to the reputation of the region. The association supports projects requiring backing beyond the resources available from public sector coffers, but which are nevertheless of particular interest to Salzburg.
Hence, talented artists and performers benefit from ISA patronage. Restoration work on buildings of historical and architectural importance are also subsidised by the organisation. There is close cooperation with the management of the Salzburg Festival and the Mozarteum Trust.
For extraordinary services towards tolerant, open-minded and European cultural thought at the points of linkage between the worlds of business, science and culture, the ‚Wolfgang Schüssel Prize‘, inaugurated in 2007, is awarded to an outstanding person, whose activities have been closely connected to, and of benefit to, the area.
